Quiet Your Negative Self-Talk for Good

As I write this, we're preparing for my daughter's long-awaited high school graduation. I'm up to my eyeballs in trying to prepare for out-of-town guests, plan a festive open house, give my daughter the attention and support she needs (who knew that a white dress would be so hard to find?), AND keep up with my various writing assignments.

I know I'm doing my best. But, somehow, it's often not quite good enough for the "hard to please" part of me that can be so dang negative. And sometimes, that me just won't shut up.

We all know that negative self-talk can undermine our confidence and chip away at our ability to do our best work in the world.

So why do we still do it?

We do it because this behavior is so ingrained in us and in our culture that it's hard to stop. And because our own voice is often the loudest voice in our head.

In today's video, I share my super simple solution for "drowning out" the negative language that can be so detrimental to your psyche and your success.

After you've watched this week's episode, I'd love to hear from you.

What do you do to counter your own negative self-talk?

Share your thoughts in the comments section below the video, or hop on over to my Facebook page and connect with me there. My hope is that, as a community, we can come up with solutions to keep us all from falling into the trap of negativity.

Thank you SO MUCH for reading, watching and sharing and for being a part of this movement. Especially during a crazy week like this one, it is good to know that you are out there and that we are, in some small way, connected.
