If your jeans are a bit tighter than they were ten years ago and you’re finding it harder to remember the name of that song, congratulations - you are in the majority of Americans. Most people gain about ten pounds a decade and tend to shrug off those tip-of-the-tongue moments as normal for “someone our age”.

But weight gain and cognitive decline are not inevitable parts of aging. In fact, new science is revealing how easy both may be to reverse.
